Forest School
My name is Georgie and I am a dancer. Today we are having a fun filled forest school day, learning about nature! We are going to be exploring our local area and collecting natural objects. We will be learning about plants and the names associated with the different parts of a plant. There will be lots of creative activities too.
9.30am Activity:
Nature Face
In this activity we will be going on a woodland walk (or walk in your local green area) to collect some materials for our day’s activities.
Grown Ups:
Together with your child, explore your garden or local area. Take a bag and see what you can find. You could collect sticks, twigs, leaves, flowers and other natural items. This activity supports children's knowledge and understanding of the world around them.
You may want to wear gloves while you collect the objects.
10.30am Activity:
Nature Crown
In this activity we will be making a nature crown.
Grown Ups:
You will need a thick piece of card, some sticky tape and natural items to make your crown. This activity develops children's creativity and communication and language skills.
1:30pm Activity:
Counting Game
In this activity we are going to be counting sticks.
Grown Ups:
You will need some card to make flash cards for the numbers 1-10, and 10 sticks to help with our counting! This activity supports counting, number recognition and place value.
2:30pm Activity:
Label a Plant
In this activity we will be learning about the different parts of a plant.
