Dragons Day

Today we are joined by Bridget Supple author of 'Dragons on the Wrekin'. Since moving to Shropshire in 1986, the Wrekin has been part of Bridget’s Shropshire landscape. This story was inspired by the sight of the Wrekin as she went about daily life with her four children.

When not dragon spotting, Bridget works for the NHS and a national charity teaching new and expectant parents. She lives in Newport, Shropshire with her husband, four children and a menagerie of pets (but no dragons!)

Dragons on the Wrekin

Bridget shares the story all about the tale of the dragons on the famous hill called The Wrekin in Shropshire.

After the story:

Make Your Own Fire Breathing Dragon Craft

This fire breathing dragon made from a toilet paper roll or rolled up card is an easy kids craft that uses simple craft supplies. When you blow into the end of the tube the tissue paper looks like flames coming out of the dragon’s mouth!

Dragon Eggs

Make your own dragon eggs!

We’ve made dragon’s eggs from perler beads but you could make one from play dough or salt dough and decorate it with as much paint, glitter  or even decoupage!

There are no rules when it comes to dragon eggs!

Make your own Dragon

Cut and paint your own 3D Dragon

What colour will your dragon be?

Will they have scales, perhaps they will be glittery (mine is!).

Paint your dragon whatever colour you like. You can make them smile or look fierce depending on how you feel!

Grown Ups:
Children can choose colours they would like for their dragon and bring their imaginations to life.

Dragon Activities
