Easter Animals Day
Hello children I'm Jude, an author and storyteller. Here are my storytelling mascots Lamby and Flossie. We'd like to welcome you to 'Easter Animal Day'. We think of certain animals when we think of Easter - lambs, rabbits and chicks. We're going to learn about them and do some paper crafts, singing and counting.
Make Your Own Lamb
We're going to learn some facts about lambs (Lamby and Flossie love this!) and then make a paper craft lamb of our own
You can download the lamb head or encourage your child to draw their own and the lamb's body. Then they can decorate it using paper crafts. You might like to talk about lambs and how they are born around this time of year. Maybe you have lambs in fields nearby which you could go and look at.
Use language such as lamb, sheep, baby, Easter, vegetarian, paper craft, cut, curl, fleece, wool
Develops - Understanding the World, Physical and Expressive Art skills.
Binky Jumps
I'm going tell you three facts about rabbits and then we're going to sing a song. You might already know it.

Counting Chicks
I'll tell you three facts about chicks and then we're going to play a counting game. I wonder who will win? You can play the game with the people in your space too.
Help your child to set up and play your own counting game. If you don't have any pretend chicks you could draw some or use Easter eggs if you have them. Use vocabulary such as chicks, chicken, game, maths, counting, how many, the most, take turns, number names 0-3.
Develops - Communication and Language, Maths and Understanding the World skills.
Animal Moves
Now we're going to do an activity which uses all three animals we've been thinking about today. Can you think of your own move for a chick, a rabbit and a lamb?
Encourage your child to think of some moves to match the animals then join in as they play. Use language such as - chick, lamb, rabbit, hop, move, jump, flap, scamper, action, walk.
