Winnie the Pooh Day

Hello children, I'm Jude and I'm an author and storyteller. Lamby and Flossie are my storytelling mascots with Little Lamb Tales. Today we are very excited as it's Winnie the Pooh Day! We have some lovely activities planned. If you have your own Pooh Bear or one of his friends, why don't you bring them along for the day.

In Which Pooh Enjoys a Bird's Eye View

A few years ago, I entered a competition about Winnie the Pooh visiting my local area. I live in Liverpool so I wrote the story about Winnie the Pooh visiting my fabulous city. I'm going to read the story to you now.

Encourage your child to listen to the story. Look at the photo album and discuss what Winnie the Pooh saw in the story. Use language such as Liverpool, cathedrals, River Mersey, visit, Winnie the Pooh, his friends' names, other features.

Develops - Communication & Language and Understanding the World skills.

Your Local Area

Honey Toast

We all know that Pooh Bear loves honey! Let's have a go at making some honey toast.  You will need a piece of toast, a plate, butter (if you wish), honey, a clean knife and a clean tea spoon.

Help your child to toast the bread, spread the butter, add the honey and cut into quarters. Use language such as honey, snack, butter, bread, toast, spread, spoon, drip, quarters, squares, triangles, rectangles.

Move like Pooh

Now it's time to get moving! Let's have fun making actions to go with Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore and Owl.

Encourage your child to join in with the actions. You can think of your own actions or use mine. Use language such as - move, jump, fly, tiptoe, gloomy, space, Develops - Communication & Language and Physical Skills.
