Polar Animals Day
I'm Jude and I'm an author and storyteller. Lamby and Flossie are my storytelling mascots with Little Lamb Tales. Today we are welcoming our friends Bex and Boo as it's Polar Animal Day. We'll be finding out about where they live and some interesting facts about polar bears and penguins. It's going to be great fun.
9.30am Activity:
North and South
We are going to learn about the two polar regions - the North Pole and the South Pole. They are both very cold, snowy and icy places. Maybe you have a globe or atlas you could look at.
Grown Ups:
Discuss the North and South Pole with your children. If you have a globe or atlas look for the places and discuss who or what might live there. Use language such as cold, snowy, icy, polar, North Pole, South Pole, Arctic, Antarctic, polar bear, penguin, walrus, whale, seal, globe, atlas.

Meet Bex
Let's find out some interesting facts about penguins.
Grown Ups:
Encourage your child to listen to the facts about penguins. See if you can find out any other interesting facts. You can share them at info@eyfshome.com or post them on social media. Use language such as penguin, facts, Emperor penguin, South Pole, Antarctica, cold, snow

Meet Boo
Now let's find out some interesting facts about Polar bears.

2:30pm Activity:
The Same but Different
Let's look at Bex and Boo and see what is the same about them and what is different. Can you think of your own ideas?
Grown Ups:
Discuss similarities and differences with your child. Help them to see that two different species can have things in common. Use language such as - similar, same, different, features, feature names.
